This natural park in Monterrey features a diverse mix of ecosystems, primarily consisting of pine-oak forest, gallery forest along the riverbanks, and submontane scrubland. Located on the edge of the Sierra Madre Oriental, it acts as a transition zone with lush, temperate vegetation, including oaks and sycamores.
Here we can look for many interesting birds such as Black crested Titmouse, Rufous-capped and Golden-crowned Warblers, Blue Bunting, Rose-throated and Gray-collared Becards, Green Jay, Golden-olive and Acorn Woodpecker, Crimson-collared Grosbeak, Spot-breasted Wren, Olive Sparrow, Clay-colored Thrush, Tropical Parula, Painted Redstart, Blue-capped Motmot and many more. This park also harbors migratory species such as Yellow-green Vireo or Yellow-billed Cuckoo as well as many warbler species that spend the winter here.
