BIRDWATCHING EXPERTS, CONSERVATIONISTS & NATURE GUIDES IN NORTHEASTERN MEXICO

Founded in 2016, Kingfisher Birdwatching Nuevo León is a nature tourism and bird conservation project led by Marilyn and Leonardo, who are dedicated to the study, observation, and protection of birds in Northeastern Mexico.

Our mission is simple: connect people with nature through responsible birdwatching tourism, environmental education, and conservation initiatives that help protect the rich biodiversity of Nuevo León.

Based in Monterrey, we specialize in private birdwatching tours, customized birding experiences, bird photography excursions, and educational programs designed for birders of all experience levels.

01 Welcome

OUR STORY

Kingfisher Birdwatching Nuevo León began with a shared passion for birds, science, and environmental education.

Our first activities took place along the La Silla River, one of Monterrey’s most important urban natural corridors. Over the years, we have documented more than 160 bird species in this area alone—nearly one-third of all bird species recorded in the state of Nuevo León.

The Kingfisher became our symbol during one of our earliest birdwatching outings with local residents and biology students. Participants were amazed to discover such a specialized bird thriving within a major metropolitan area. That moment reinforced our belief that extraordinary wildlife exists closer than most people imagine.

Today, we continue inspiring that same sense of wonder by helping visitors and local communities discover the incredible birdlife and natural habitats that surround Monterrey.
