Cuatro Ciénegas: A Living Window into Earth's Ancient Past

This tour includes bird watching as well as other ecotourism activities in the area: astronomical evening, visit to pools, gypsum dunes, marble mines among other attractions. Cuatro Ciénegas is located 5 hours from Monterrey and the regular tour lasts 3 days. It features a diverse range of vegetation types due to its unique, water-rich desert oasis ecosystem, primarily categorized into rosetophyllous desert scrub, halophytic vegetation, gypsum-loving plant communities, aquatic/semiaquatic flora, and grassland patches. There are also areas of scrubland and mesquite trees in canyon areas or around the valley.

For this tour, it is recommended to arrive in Monterrey at least one day before the travel date.
